At Southpace, we start each new year by honoring our top five producing brokers from the previous year. Our 2012 top five should come as no surprise to those in the Birmingham area commercial real estate industry.
Up first is Tyler Bradford, a broker in our retail division with a focus on Tenant Representation. He had an excellent year with several clients, including Gander Mountain. Tyler helped the outdoor sporting goods retailer secure three new stores in 2012. Opelika and Florence opened last fall and a new Tuscaloosa location is under construction and slated for a spring 2013 opening. Additionally, Tyler worked with McDonald’s to develop new stores in several markets around the state. Southpace’s Retail Tenant Representation is responsible for preparing and executing market development plans for multi-unit retailers across the southeast.
Marcus Bruchis, SCLS, also in the Southpace retail division, manages a Master Brokerage account for Rainbow Fashion. Marcus completed 10 transactions across the southeast for Rainbow Fashion last year including the states of Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. With the assistance of the Retail Brokers Network, Southpace acts as an outsourced real estate department offering master brokerage services across the country.
David Ashford, CCIM best illustrates our firm’s landlord representation capabilities with a total of 53 completed transactions in 2012. David oversaw a mini-transformation at Crestline’s Country Club Park including a Zoe’s restaurant expansion and an Urban Cookhouse deal in the former Fire Restaurant space. David also leased approximately 60,000 SF of shop space at the Crestwood Festival Center, ranging from 750 SF to 15,000 SF and taking the center from 64% to 92% occupancy in 6 short months. This is a testimony to Southpace’s focused approach to third-party leasing and management.
Rich Vanchina, CCIM, SIOR has a focus on industrial brokerage including both tenant and landlord representation in leasing and sales activity. Rich completed 42 individual industrial deals last year, illustrating that our Industrial Division thrives at Tenant Representation. We give our clients an unbiased look at the entire market and help them maximize their real estate assets—whether they lease or own their property.
Blake Crowe, CCIM, a broker in our Office Division, provides representation of both landlords and tenants in leasing and sales transactions. Blake helped several clients find their ideal office space in Birmingham last year, including Hargrove Engineers, ChipRewards, Gathings Law Firm, Wettermark & Keith and Abbott, Livings, Smith and Higgins. As a leader at an independent real estate company, Blake is able to offer the region’s most comprehensive Tenant Representation services for office occupants.
Southpace Properties, Inc. is Alabama’s largest independent commercial real estate firm. At Southpace, we add value to the use and ownership of commercial real estate through services such as office, retail, land, warehouse and industrial sales and leasing, tenant and landlord representation, development, consulting, investment sales, property management and construction management.
